Transcript – How to meditate

Meditation is all about finding a solid anchor to which we can bring our Focus, not letting our thoughts run wild giving us grief. A really simple anchor I use with my students is tapping by tapping your face arms and legs. We can use the tingling sensations as our focus. Let’s try it.

Find a quiet spot where you can sit comfortably. Take a deep breath. Start gently tapping your cheeks. Move down and start tapping your shoulders, then your right arm, your left arm… Now now your legs.

The firmness of your tapping is up to you. The stronger the sensations you produce, the more solid your anchor is.

Now observe the strong sensations in your body. Take a deep breath. Observe the tingling in your body, on your face, your arms, your legs… Observe the constant changing nature of the sensations.

Now breathe deeply.

Keep on watching and following the sensations. Notice how the intensity gradually lessens.

Observe the pulsing sensations on your fingertips. The sensations may have disappeared altogether by now.

How do you feel?

Before you open your eyes, take another deep breath.

As you inhale, look inwards and notice the calm peace and the stillness within.

This is the result of anchoring your mind.

Well, there you have it; a simple tool to kick-start your meditation.

I hope this helps.
