Newsletter No.10 | Sunday 30th June 2024 | The Four Types of Jerry

The Innocent Perception Newsletter | Sunday 30th June 2024 | The Four Types of Jerry

Dear all,

Last time I introduced Jerry, the carrier of all problems, as the root cause of all humans’ suffering, which attacks us in the form of intimate thoughts and feelings.

I want to clarify the different types of Jerry for better understanding. You might think that Jerry is always dark and negative, but we also have positive, pleasant, creative, and happy Jerry.

Let’s explore the four distinct types of Jerry, each represented by a unique colour. These colours serve as metaphors, helping us to better understand the nature of each Jerry.

Black Jerry gives negative and painful feelings.Pink Jerry give positive and pleasant feelings when you get what you want.White Jerry are intellectual and creative thoughts and feelings.Clear Jerry come from strongly held beliefs from religious or spiritual dogma. Clear Jerry can give both positive and negative thoughts and feelings.

These four types of Jerry encompass every aspect that affect our lives through thoughts and feelings.
We must keep track of the spiritual destination I talked about in previous newsletters. So, how does Jerry relate to Nirvana/God/Innocent Perception? From the image above, you can see that Jerry acts within, almost as a prison cell, imprisoning our true self.

On the night of Buddha’s Enlightenment, he was free from the imprisonment of all types of Jerry. It was a total liberation from Jerry, turning a human prince into a Buddha. This significant event was the Enlightenment. So, Buddha was the person who experienced total spiritual freedom that no one knew before that moment. He also knew that the extraordinary freedom within was the universal Truth – Buddha called this the Third Noble Truth, the end of suffering.

Language is the materialisation of our thoughts, or Jerry. Although the enlightening experience is freedom from all types of Jerry, he had to use language to deliver his teaching. Ultimately, Buddha settled on the word ‘Nirvana’ (Christ on God) as a label to represent the state of a liberated mind that no word can touch.

Nirvana is the same ultimate experience as God and the Innocent Perception.

Best wishes,

Supawan
